TERRY WILLEY AND CAROL BAKER ARE FEATURED SPEAKERS AT THE FEBRUARY WRITERS OF KERN MEETING

Terry Willey and Carol Baker are pleased to announce we are the featured speakers at the Writers of Kern meeting on February 15, 2025, at Hodel’s in Bakersfield, California.  Breakfast begins at 8:30 am
and the general meeting begins at 9:15 am.

In our workshop, “Artificial Intelligence for Creatives,” we will explore the ethical uses of AI to help writers achieve their goals, and how to create prompts that direct AI to build what you want.

We’ll cover creating book proposals, query letters, loglines, and promotional artwork.  We’ll also give tips on how to save time using AI and how to increase your marketing effectiveness.  AI is a tool to boost your productivity and generate ideas tailored to your writing goals.

We are award-winning writers of one-act and full-length plays, screenplays, teleplays, short stories, novels, and biscuit and gravy reviews.  Our book, Time Travel for Fun and Prophet, won second place in Humor and third place in Science Fiction in the 2024 CIPA EVVYTM Book Awards.

We are original members of Writers of Kern and were active in the screenwriting and scifi critique groups.  Currently we are members of the Coastal Dunes CWC branch of the California Writers Club.

Our work has appeared in Coastal Dunes CWC Anthologies Across a Distant Shore, Shifting Sands, Turning Tides, and SPLASH; and in Writers of Kern Anthology 2001 and Anthology II.  Our new book, Rio Cyborg, will be coming out in 2025.

The meeting and workshop fee is $20 for Writers of Kern members and $25 for nonmembers.  Hodel’s is located at 5917 Knudsen Drive, Bakersfield, California.  We hope to see you there!
